If your motorhome has a towbar fitted, it will be inspected during an MOT test, as this is a legal requirement to ensure your motorhome is safe on the road.

There isn’t a single best towbar for a motorhome; it all depends on your chassis type and what you want to tow. The three main types of towbars are fixed flange, fixed swan-neck or detachable swan-neck. For some motorhomes a custom-made towbar is the best option.

You need to tell your motorhome insurer if you fit a towbar as it counts as a vehicle modification and it changes the risks you’re subjected to. 

You can sell motorhomes with a failed MOT without any worries. You're not legally required to sell a vehicle with a valid MOT; however, you must disclose this.  If you're planning on selling your motorhome with a failed MOT, contact us and we'll be able to help.

Ideally you wound want to carry out a habitation check at least once a year, but every two years is also fine. We do recommend to carry out an inspection of gas and electrics at least once a year.

No, a habitation check is not a legal requirement. However, most insurance companies or warranties require you to complete habitation checks periodically.

No, the two are different and one cannot replace the other. A service looks at the mechanical components of the motorhome, a habitation check focuses on the living areas.
