Vehicle Condition & Your Consumer Rights By purchasing from AMC Motorhomes Ltd, you confirm that you have examined the vehicle and are satisfied with its condition, consistent with its age, mileage, and description. Please note the following:
Exterior/Body The vehicle may have undergone cosmetic repairs (e.g., paintwork, dent removal) carried out to an acceptable standard. Minor imperfections such as stone chips, scratches, or small dents may be present, in line with normal wear and tear.
Interior The interior may show signs of use, but all functional components operate as expected. You acknowledge having had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. We are committed to complying with your statutory consumer rights. If you believe the vehicle does not meet legal standards (e.g., faulty, misdescribed, or unfit for purpose), please notify us immediately. However, cosmetic wear consistent with the vehicle’s age and mileage does not constitute a breach of these rights.
Mechanical All vehicles are usually serviced and come with a minimum of 9 months MOT. Habitation and engine batteries are tested before collection but are not covered under warranty. If either battery is found to be defective (unable to hold a charge) within 60 days of collection, AMC will offer a replacement at trade price upon return and inspection of the original battery. Low charge does not constitute failure.
Estimated Collection Dates We will initially provide you with a verbal estimate of your vehicle’s collection date at the point of sale. This is a provisional guideline based on current workshop capacity and workload. Once the vehicle is handed over to our workshop team for preparation, we will contact you with a more accurate and confirmed collection date. Please do not make non-refundable or fixed travel arrangements (such as campsite or ferry bookings) until you have received this confirmed date. AMC Motorhomes will not be liable for any costs or inconvenience resulting from delays beyond our control.
Payment of Outstanding Balance Card payments are accepted for deposits and service work. However, the remaining balance for your motorhome must be paid by BACS transfer and cleared in our bank account at least 5 working days prior to collection. Please reference the vehicle registration and/or invoice number to ensure accurate allocation. We do not accept American Express. Failure to ensure cleared funds at least 5 working days before your scheduled collection may result in your handover date being postponed to the next available handover slot after your funds have cleared.
Your Deposit Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed. A partially refundable deposit is defined as £500. If you choose not to proceed with the purchase for any reason, we will refund £475, retaining a £25 administration fee. Any deposit amount exceeding £500 is considered a full deposit and is not refundable. Full refunds are permissible only if: 1) We cannot fulfil the order, or 2) The vehicle is not available for delivery within 30 days of the estimated date.
Part Exchange While we factor in a reasonable allowance for minor expected repairs when offering a part exchange price, we reserve the right to adjust the agreed value if the part exchange vehicle is found to be of lesser value following inspection. This inspection is not a quick look-over by a salesperson, but a thorough check carried out in our workshop by trained technicians. To avoid any surprises or delays, we strongly recommend that you bring your part exchange vehicle to us as soon as possible so these inspections can be completed in good time.
Cancellation Policy Cancelling the sales order results in forfeiting your deposit and may incur charges related to preparation or depreciation. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Alex McGonigle or Geoff Takashi at [email protected].
Warranty The vehicle is sold with a 6-month warranty starting ±5 days from collection. Claims rejected by the RAC will be the owner’s responsibility. Living in the vehicle voids the warranty.
Warranty Claims Notify AMC in writing before delivering a warranty claim vehicle to us. Email [email protected] with vehicle details and warranty number. The RAC must authorise repairs before work begins. Lack of authorisation may result in claim rejection. For remote repairs, call RAC on 0330 100 3728 to find an approved repairer. Your vehicle comes with a minimum 6-month warranty, with a claim limit of £500 per claim. You have the exclusive opportunity to extend this to a 12-month warranty with a £1,000 claim limit per claim, allowing for unlimited claims during the cover term. This upgrade option is only available until your vehicle's collection day. Please ask us for pricing. Please note that any expenses not covered by the warranty remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Aftermarket Accessories & Missing Items AMC tests aftermarket accessories (e.g. reversing cameras, A/C, satellites and TV’s) as part of pre-delivery checks but cannot guarantee their function. Hook-up cables are not PAT tested. Original equipment (e.g. ladders, keys, BBQ points) may be missing. Existing gas bottles will be left for the new owners but we do not supply new gas bottles.
MOT Advisory Work All vehicles are provided with a minimum 9-month MOT from date of deposit. Any work required to pass the MOT is completed by AMC or a third party. Please note that advisory items (such as worn tyres or stone chips) are not automatically rectified, as they are simply advisories and not immediate failures. Rectification of advisory items is chargeable if you request it before collection.
Clarification of Agreement Please ensure you are fully satisfied that all items and agreements made with your salesperson are clearly noted on your invoice. Kindly be aware that any requests to add items or accessories after this point may impact your scheduled collection date. Furthermore, any agreements not explicitly documented on this invoice cannot be honoured at a later time.
Fuel at Collection
Vehicles are supplied with the fuel level present at the time of preparation. If the fuel level is below one quarter (¼) of a tank at collection, AMC Motorhomes will add up to £30 of fuel for handover purposes. The cost of this fuel will be added to the final invoice and is payable prior to collection.
Complaints & Disputes Should you have any issues or complaints, please contact our Workshop Manager in the first instance. If your concerns remain unresolved, you may escalate the matter to our Managing Director or General Manager. Please be advised that if a vehicle is rejected, it must be returned to AMC Motorhomes at the vehicles owners expense.
Third-Party Engagement We may pass your details to a third-party insurer to provide you with a no obligation quote unless you opt out.
Identity Check Under English law, including the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA), we are legally required to verify the identity of our customers in certain circumstances. This helps prevent fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes. To comply with these obligations, we will need to see a valid form of government-issued identification (such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID card) along with proof of address (such as a recent utility bill or bank statement). In some cases, we may also need to perform electronic verification. If you are unable or unwilling to provide acceptable identification, we reserve the right to refuse the transaction, and any deposit paid may be retained .
Binding Nature By leaving a deposit with AMC Motorhomes Ltd, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, as well as our full Terms of Business available at: www.amcmotorcaravans.co.uk/company-terms-conditions.
